In November of 2006, I was fortunate to discover the life work of Fred Bevans, a self-taught wood carver. His artwork is difficult to categorize. I would call some pieces folk art and others trompe l’oeil sculpture. Presented here are photos and descriptions of 65 pieces, divided into these two categories. As you view the collection, please note that the pieces are carved entirely from wood. There is also a brief biography of the artist and a page showing his various signature styles. Your comments and inquiries are welcome.
